"We Love the Miracle that is Patrick..."

Patrick - New Jersey

"Paws Pack" Member #81

Who knew just a few weeks ago when Patrick was rescued that he would be the most loved and talked about face around the World.  He has grabbed hearts from Kansas City to Ireland and shows no signs of slowing down. At this writing, his Facebook Fan page, the Patrick Miracle has almost 80,000 fans and friends of the "Patrick Movement" as some have called it.  You can really say that a picture has changed this sweet, starved for food and love boy into a huge "celebrity" in the fight against animal abuse and neglect. We looked in sadness at those first pictures of his frail almost a skeleton frame, and those sweet brown eyes that have captured our hearts! Everyday, thousands send him messages of love and hope, and of course we are one of those thousands that have jumped on the Patrick Train to cheer him on and wish him well everyday.

We are so impressed by his remarkable recovery and becoming an icon to speak out against animal abuse and making the abusers of animals be served with a much more serious level of the law in both jail time and the fines they are to pay. When Patrick's former owner was found, and the discussions began about what level of offense she would receive as opposed to what she SHOULD receive, Patrick's fans spoke out. This started a wave of outbursts from these thousands of people and believe it or not...she will be served a much harsher sentence, fine and community service time. It is just amazing how the power of pictures, Facebook and this pitiful, skinny, starved dog could inspire the public to stand up and speak out as they have! So proud, so proud!

With such strenth and will to live in his  story as well as  being inspired ourselves, we bring you our 81st Paws Pack rescue dog, Patrick the Miracle! Thank you Patrick and fans for all your support, inspiration, and love for a sweet, starved dog we have all come to know and support.  We want to send a BIG WOOF OUT to Patrick's rescuers and caregivers at Garden State Veterinary Specialists or GSVS as it is fondly known. Thank you for helping and sharing this special "miracle's" journey with all of us.

Patrick we are so proud of you and  are "United in the PAW" and here to work alongside you to make a difference  helping other abused animals find their happy lives. Dog Bless You!

  1. When I first saw this story, it made me sick. She can't afford food, but she could afford to get her hair colored, a cellphone and new clothes. Because I'm not local to Patrick, I haven't seen how she will be punished. Can you link some stories or email them to me?

Oh, and can we buy the United for Patrick poster?

  5. GSVS most certainly did a wonderful job in saving Patrick - the state he was in is still hard to fathom. Your Facebook page has already been liked! Wishing the best of success in changing/introducing laws that will better protect our animals, and deter or punish those who might neglect or abuse them!

Thank you for blogging the change!

  6. These stories are so sad. There are so many people who would have taken the dog regardless of her poor motives for surrendering if she would have just been responsible in doing it.
